Are Life Estate Deeds legal in Tennessee?

Yes. A life estate is simply a unique interest in real property where the life tenant has full and complete possession, use and control of the property until the life tenant's death. Then the remaindermen's interest in the property becomes possessory (the right to possess the property) upon the life tenant's death.
