Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Tennessee
Property damage
I own a home in Tennessee. A few days ago a neighbor called me about a tree from my property that had fallen onto his lot. The tree was there when his property was devoloped and his home was built. Am I responsible for the tree removal?

Re: Property damage
I am licensed to practice law in Florida, not Tennessee. Genenrally in Florida, if part of a tree crosses over to an adjacent property, the adjacent property owner is free to cut that part which enters his/her property, and the owner of the tree cannot object to such cutting. Good luck.
