settlement for pain & suffering / attacked by dog

what is the typical insurance settlement for pain and suffering? i have been advised it is normally around three times the hospital amd medical bills.

There is no formula for calculating these types of damages. On average, there may be some support for the idea that three times medicals being a settlement figure, but every case is dependent on its unique facts. You should consult with a competent attorney to determine if you have a case, and if so, what damages might be allowable.
