Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Tennessee

Timeshare co-owner

My mom purchased a timeshare and added me as a co-owner. I did sign the paperwork to be a co-owner, but as I think about it, I do not want to be stuck with the maintenance fees when she passes on. How can I be removed as co-owner? Also, both parents own time shares, if they leave them you you when they pass on, are you required to accept them and pay the maintenance fees? The timeshares are in TN and FL.

Re: Timeshare co-owner

A co-owner is responsible for the maintenace fees. You could transfer the timeshare back to your mother or to another person.

There are outlets for selling timeshares, or you might gift the timeshare to someone you know, through the paper or gift the timeshare to a charity.
