Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Tennessee
My daughter is 15 and we just found out last that she has had sex with a 19, possibly 20 year old. Is that statuatory rape? If so, as a parent, what can I do. We do not agree with this, and if possible, press charges. Thank you.

Short answer:
it depends on their EXACT ages.
Tennessee law uses questions such as:
If she is over the age of 15 ...
but she is under the age of 18 ...
and he is over the age of 18 ...
and he is at least 4 years older than her ...
and he is not more than 5 years older than her...
then he is guilty of Mitigated Statutory Rape.
OR
If she is over the age of 15 ...
but she is under the age of 18 ...
and he is above the age of 18 ...
and he is more than four years older than her ...
and he is not ten or more years older than her ...
then he is guilty of Statutory Rape.
That is not a question of "Sexual Harassment Law" that is a question of Criminal Law, and
the police should be notified as in all cases of reasonable suspicion that a crime has
been committed.
