Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Tennessee
Faculty harassment
My wife is a college professor and has been continually harassed by a male faculty member for the past two years. Prior to our marriage this man stalked my wife, purchased her lingerie and attempted to gift this to her on school grounds stating ''I bought this for you so I could see you model it for me.'' In September of 06 my wife and another female faculty member filed formal complaints with the school. The man in question settled and signed a contract stating that he recognized the error of his ways and there were certain stipulations that he must adhere to in order to maintain employment. The settlement was agreed upon and nothing further was done. This man however has continued to violate this contract and is now sexually harassing and racially descriminating against not only every female faculty member in his division, but also a number of students. He has told the students ''you can complain all you want I am untouchable'' not only has he said this, but he has threatend the students with failing grades if they go forward with any allegations. Over the past week 4 more sexual harassment complaints have been filed and 1 of racial discrimination. I would like to know how strong the case is.

Re: Faculty harassment
It sounds to me that there might be a case there. Each case is different, but I would pursue it further. The next thing your wife needs to do is file a complaint with the school putting them on notice that he is not honoring the agreement and is engaging in the conduct again. I would also see an attorney to advise her on how to proceed.
