Under 18 inheriting money

Can persons under 18 inherit money that was left to them POD on a CD? The attorney is telling us that several things have to be done before it can be cashed because some of the heirs are under 18 still and some are over. Is this something the attorney has to handle (and be paid for)or can the parents do it? We're told we have to pay to establish guardianship for our own children. Is that correct?

What you have been told by the attorney is correct. You can establish the guardianship without hiring an attorney. Go to the Self Service Center at the Maricopa County Superior Court where you will find instructions and forms to fill out.
