Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Adding Provisions to a pre-existing Will

My father has made his last will and testament, but now wants to add a few provisions. He has written these provisions down on paper and affixed his signature. Is this legal or do we need to go to a lawyer to have a codicil made so that these provisions will not be contested later or will a simple notarization suffice?

Re: Adding Provisions to a pre-existing Will

Your father will be better served if he has his entire will redone to include the new providsions. WRITING THE PROPOSED PROVISIONS ON A SEPERATE SHEET OF PAPER WITH A SIGNED OR NOTARIZED SIGNATURE IS NOT ENOUGH. I can help. 423 266-4855
