benificary and executor

my fiance has been named benificary of her grandmas estate but her uncle is executor and claims she must pay for funeral expenses out of her pocket the grandmas 3 living children paid the funeral expenses months ago.the executor is refusing to settle the estate until she pays them back..is this legal?

No it's not. The ones who paid the funeral bill need to file a claim against the estate. It sounds like she needs to get a probate lawyer before the estate is pilfered by relatives.
