Credit Card Balances

If my wife passes away am I as her husband responsible for her credit card debts even though they were all in her name?

The wife's credit card debts are hers alone unless she paid medical bills on the credit cards. Medical bills may be considered necessities and a joint obligation of both husband and wife.
