The deceased was a widow, she had only one child, the father of my daughter,(we have been divorced since 1978,I am only asking about my daughter's rights) he has two children one is my daughter the one mentioned above and a child by his second wife, a daughter who is 18 years old. He has not told my daughter anything and currently they are not communicating, he has never seen his grandchildren and has not devulged any info regarding a will

Re: My daughter shafted

If there is a will, then the executor should notify all beneficiaries, i.e. probate the will. If your daughters grandmother died without a will, than Georgia's intestacy laws would apply. Of course, they are somewhat complicated, but generally the property is divided among the spouse and children.
