disabled mother/elderly father/will?

Mother cannot speak, father thinks we will be able to take care of her if he dies. don't know if he has a will or what. Mother stroke survivor & physically disabled. 5 siblings / what are we to do to be able to take care of her if he passes away ? he has given limited information to us

You have not indicated where your mother will live if your father dies. Will your mother move in with one of the children? If not, it would appear that your mother may have to go into a nursing home. If your mother is capable of signing a Durable Power of Attorney for Financial Affairs and a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care, those documents should be done. If your mother is incapable of signing those documents, it appears as though a petition for conservatorship should be filed with the court, the sooner the better.
