Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee
executor of a will
My Dad made me executor of his will. I
am his eldest child. Do I have to live in
the same state as him?

No, you do not. You can serve as Executor from another state.

No, but you will need an attorney to probate the will in his state. Why not make efforts to have the estate pass with no probate instead of just a will, which says who gets the estate in probate? Trusts, beneficiary designations, beneficiary deeds (if available in that state) and POD accounts can be used to avoid probate.
Good luck.
