Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee
Ok my father passed away not to long ago, leaving 2 ex wives 1 girlfriend, and 4 children. He did not leave a will, but I was informed as being his next of kin that anything he possesses including his debts would be entrusted to his children because he was not married, and his girlfriend took everything. Could I take her to court?

Under intestate laws, your father's girlfriend would not be entitled to anything your father owned. Since he was not married, his possessions should have been split between the four children after all of his debts were paid. If you would like to discuss your options, feel free to give me a call.
