Legal Question in Workers Comp in Tennessee

Had back surgery x 2 once in 4/00 and again 8/00. same place

Had L4-5 laminectomy twice this year, 1x in 1988 same place. Work on farm driving tractor rough work. 45 yo male want to know what kind of settlement could I get through workers comp, and if doc says am okay to return to work does that sound right, think employer has doc in hip pocket now. Do people usually get social security disability after so many surgeries? Can I use another doc at this point or should I? I dont feel physically I can hold up to work 9-12h day on my feet or driving huge tractor that long. doc is also private physician of owner of company. What do I need to do? Is there a such thing as settlement and going to work for same employer?

Yes, you can recover in a worker's compensation claim and still go back to work with the same employer. Are you sure that you are covered with worker's compensation insurance? Many farm workers are not covered. You need to check this out. When there is worker's compensation insurance, you are given a panel of three doctors to choose from. Your inquiry makes it sound like you did not have a choice of doctors. The amount of your recovery is going to depend on several factors including the amount of impairment your doctor gives you, your average weekly wage, your vocational disability and many other things. You need to discuss this with an attorney......Also, why did you have two laminectomies? Is there any medical malpractice involved?
