Legal Question in Workers Comp in Tennessee
Personal Injury on the job while an employee of a public trust
I was injured on the job. Final result: two surgeries, permanant lifting restrictions. My job field has narrowed because of this. Is there a way to make a public trust accountable for this? They admit their role but say they cannot be sued because they are a public trust (a medical center).

Can a "public trust" be sued?
No medical centers are immune from suit, to myknowledge. You had better go into this in detail with an attorney: for example, I don't know what they are referring to when they use the phrase "public trust." On the basis of the scanty details you proavide, I'd say you certainly have a workers' comp case if your injury occurred during work, as a result of your work. I get a feeling that someone is "putting you on" to avoid a lawsuit, of whtever kind.
