Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
Probate
Can you probate a will without an attorney? What steps need to be taken to probate a will? One child, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mother passed away earlier this month. Have no idea where to go or what to do! Please help!

Re: Probate
If your mother passed away with a will and her estate is
fairly simple, you should contact one of the clerks in
the probate department of the County Clerk's office at
the courthouse in your county. Usually the clerks are
very helpful but they will not advise you as to law.
Try them first and see what they have to say. Ususally
smaller counties clerks's are more helpful than those in
the larger courthouses.
