Does the public have a right to view surveillance video if injured or attacked on public transportation?

The police will obtain the video and it will be made available to the prosecution when charges are filed. The complainant and accused would have the opportunity to view the video if there are criminal charges or a civil lawsuit filed. Otherwise, one could attempt to get a copy of the video under the Texas Public Information Act, although it is likely that the city would fight such release unless an arrest had been made.
