Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Texas
Can I write the judge to ask for him/her to give the defendant a detente of rehab instead of more jail time. His offense is burglary of a building, he has no drug charges what so ever but is a known drug addict just never seems to get in "trouble" for the drug use just the life style that comes with it

You can write the judge but it is not up to the judge what happen on the case unless the defendant pleads guilty to the judge or tries his case to the judge. Contact the defendant's lawyer to see what you can do to assist.
