Re: Use of airport profits by political subdivison

Howdy:

Shooting from the hip, I do not believe there is a requirement that airport income be used by the city or county for airport purposes. Naturally, it is in the interest of the city/county to use the funds to maintain the airport; but, that doesn't mean they have to.

I'll make some phone calls and find out for sure. I didn't see anything in a quick review of the USC, and I haven't dug into the CFR. The local airport manager is the best source.

I'd guess that your local airport is running a profit, and that the city/county is recklessly squandering the extra money? Or, are they foolish enough to let the airport run down while they recklessly squander the money?
