Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas

Which Bankruptcy Court can I file in?

My perment address of record is San Antonio Texas. I filed my taxes last year with an address in Texas. I am living in Spain. I came to complete a masters program 9 months ago. I plan to stay here working. I don't have enough money to fly to the U.S. Which bankruptcy court can I file with? Is there a designated district that handles people who live abroad? Thanks!!

Dear sir,

Your question is related to the US law and I think you must ask in the court of your last Texas address but in Spain you have not a legal procedure of volunteer bankrupcy without being a permanent resident.

Bankruptcy is governed by federal law, not state law. Your case must be filed in the jurisdiction that you have resided in for the past six months, or at least 91 days of the last six months. Also, if you file bankruptcy you must attend a creditors meeting which is generally held within the first 45 days after filing. If San Anotnio is your permenant residence that would be where you would file.
