If a company has filed bankruptcy in the state of Texas and is under a state of stay...what can be done to get the state of stay lifted or how long is a state of stay for?

The automatic stay is in place until the stay is lifted by order of the court. The stay can be lifted by filing a motion to lift stay in the company's bankruptcy. Unless you are a secured creditor of the company, the motion will probably be denied, particularly if the motion is an attempt to pursue litigation or to enforce a prior pre-bankruptcy judgment.
