Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Consequences of bankruptcy
I am considerning filing for bankruptcy, as I had to leave my job due to severe health problems and now I am receiving SSI on a monthly basis in the amount of $512.00. I started SSI in Oct.2000 and thought I could manage my debts with this money but I was wrong. Will I loose my home and 1992 car, which are not paid for if I file? What negative consequences should I expect if I file?

Re: Consequences of bankruptcy
If you file a Chapter 13 you should be able to keep the car if you have any excess money after rent etc. If you live near Austin please let me know and I will review your case at no charge.
