Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Credit Cards and Minors
If a credit card company issues a card to a minor, does the debt have to be paid back? Is it legal for credit card companies to issue cards to minors? If a card is issued to a minor what can be done to clear the debt and the credit report on the minor?

Re: Credit Cards and Minors
What is the honest, right thing to do? Did the minor charge and buy stuff? If so, the minor should be taught the responsibility of taking on obligations and work out his/or her own problem and payment plan with the credit card company. Getting debt forgiveness would be sending the wrong message and possibly create some bad adult habits in the future.
