Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Federat Tax Refund after Chapter 7
I am expecting a $600 additional income tax refund and want to know how it will be affected if I file Chapter 7 before I receive it. My previous refund of $2000 has been received and spent, do I have to declare that amount as part of the bankruptcy estate?

Re: Federat Tax Refund after Chapter 7
If you file under Chapter 7, you should include the tax refund money as "income" if you have already received it. If you have not yet received the $600 when you file bankruptcy, you will have to list it under a differenct category. If you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, call or e-mail me, perhaps I can help you.
