Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Filing bankruptcy for second time
I filed bankruptcy 6 years ago. During that time, I unfortunately accumulated new credit card debt. Debt management programs weren't able to assist. Can I file for bankruptcy again, or is there another option?

Yes, as long as you would otherwise qualify.
Re: Filing bankruptcy for second time
As far as the time requirement goes, if your previous filing was at least six years ago, you are eligible to file again.
Re: Filing bankruptcy for second time
You can file again but you can only file under chapter 13. Filing under chapter 13 would mean you would be required to repay a portion of your debts for a minimum of 3 years. I think I answered your question last week. There is a strategy I have used in situations such as yours. Please feel free to call me to discuss your case in more detail.
