Can judgments be included in chapter 7, we owned a business, we were sued a few time and lost, resulting in judgments...if we file do we still have to pay them..and what about a property tax judgment?

Re: judgments
If your intention is to keep the property which is the subject of the property tax suit/judgement (presuming you're referring to real estate), you may consider a chapter 13 repayment to make catch up pmts on this debt. Property tax authorities can foreclose on your property for non payment, and in that sense are not "dischargeable" in bankruptcy. However, if you are surrendering the property, or already have, you can reclassify the debt to an unsecured debt, and discharge it in a chapter 7 or chapter 13. Re: judgments
Taxes and judgments are includable in bankruptcy but taxes are a "priority" debt and may not always be dischargeable - it depends on the type. Judgments can be discharged. If you need further information, please feel free to call my office at 800-691-5630 (I'm in Dallas)
