Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Post Bankruptsy limitations.
After you go through chapter 7 bankruptsy can a bank turn down your checking account/debit card application? or if you have one can they take it away from you?
Would the same prevent you from getting employment?
Thank you

Re: Post Bankruptsy limitations.
Some banks do reject applicants based on what they deem are "credit risks". I don't think it happens very often. I am not familiar with any bank closing an account that is in good standing simply because the account holder has filed bankruptcy. I would be interested in knowing whether this has actually happened to you. Under bankruptcy code Section 525(b) employers are prohibited from firing or discriminating against individuals on the basis of having filed bankruptcy. ph. (972) 231-5500 or (800) 303-0720
