Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Previous Bankruptcy
I have recently filed a pro se chapter 7 bankruptcy. My husband and I are filing a joint petition. I have never filed for bankruptcy before, but my husband has in 2000. He filed in 3/2000 and it was discharged in 6/2000. Yesterday, we received paperwork from the US Trustee departement that he has to report to court in April because of this previous filing (which is after our 341 meetig). Will our entire bankruptcy be dismissed because of this? It is shy of just a couple of months from the 8 year rule. And if so, what good is it to go through all that we have gone through so far. As well as filing expenses.

Re: Previous Bankruptcy
My worry is that if the court dismisses the case you may be barred from refiling for a period. So you don't make any mistakes, I suggest you see a bankruptcy attorney.
