Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Real Estate Exemption
I'm considering filing bankruptcy in the state of Texas (where I live). I own land in Montana which I'm still paying on. My question is, can I be forced to give up my land in the event of bankruptcy - if I continue to pay the payments? This is where I plan to retire to and would hate to have to give it up.
Thanks,
Roberta

Re: Real Estate Exemption
It depends on your equity in the land and the exemptions you elect in the Bankruptcy. More info is necessary to amke a determination. Larry Maun 713.266.2560
