Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
Relief from utilities pending Chap 7
1. I filed for Chap 7 a week ago. I included my current utilities as they are behind. My electric and cable companies are threatening to disconnect. Does the auto stay apply to utility companies too?
2. I plan to reaffirm my mortgage and auto loan. My mortgage is seriously delinquent. Foreclosure is the next step my mortgage lender will take against me. Can I work out an arrangement with my mortgage comapny for repayment of my delinquent payments before relief is granted? Loosing my home would probably create a greater financial burden if I have to find another home.
