Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
In 2002 I legally obtained a BDA for Dallas Texas. In 2007 I discovered someone else had gotten a BDA for the exact same business name. What is my recourse? What is worse is that the other BDA owner is a sex offender. I believe that has potentionaly and perminently damaged my name? What do I do next?

I think you must mean a "DBA" .. doing business as.. which would mean that you filed an assumed name certificate. The real test here is if the businesses are similar.. ie. do the same thing, sell the same product or service, then the one that filed first and has spend the most monies to advertise itself is the one with the right to the name.
