Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
In 2007 I start grooming for a Vet Clinic as contractor. I build up my own client list. Now they hired a second groomer, without my knowledge. My question : is it legal in this situation to hire a second groomer? And can I do something , so the new groomer can't touch any of my clients? Or anything else I can do in this matter? I should ad there is no writen Contract between the Clinic and me. We only have a verbal agreement.
Thank you for your help

Because you don't have a written contract with the Vet Clinic there is not really anything that you can do about the new groomer that was hired. However, the client list that you have built is yours so you can take your services and clients elsewhere if you would like to leave the Vet Clinic. It would be best if you talked with the owner of the Vet Clinic concerning the issues and see if they will sign a contract with you now and specify your current clients in the contract and that the new groomer cannot steal them from you and if she does then the clinic has to compensate you somehow. The contract could also specify fees and services that you provide to protect them.
