doing art work for a childrens book
what kind of contract(legal) form do I need to protect me & the writer,There's (8)short-children,with more to come,I'm just doing the art work. She's offering(XX)per book+(XX)on total sales

Copyright the artwork and license the use. You can do the copyright yourself, but you should have an attorney handle the licensing.

this is a services contract. Whose property will the pictures be when the books are published. What if these are as successful as Winnie the Pooh? You should go to a lawyer and get a contract rather than trying to do something yourself from the internet.
