I was recently assaulted by one of the employess in a club (dj). I was thrown out of the club rather harshly as well. There were witnesses. Proceeded and got a report from the police? Do I have any grounds for a lawsuit

You might have several causes of action against the individuals who you say assaulted you and against their employer under the legal theory of "respondeat superior." However, remember that you are going to have to prove some sort of economic damages and that opposing parties may enjoy some legal defenses that they will surely employ. Good luck.
