Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Should boat owner have to pay his bill ?
We have a small boat motor repair shop. We have signs posted throughout the office and work area stating that we are not responsible for items stolen out of a customer boat. These items can range from sunglasses to cameras.
We even include stereos, cd players on this list.
This past week a cd player was stolen out of a boat. The owner was so angry, he just hitched up his boat and left without paying his bill. Is this legal for him to do this, or can we do something about it ?
I feel bad about his cd player, but his insurance should cover this.

Based on what you have written, you may want to consider speaking with a lawfirm to assist you in drafting a waiver to be signed by individuals who leave their boats on your company's property.
