Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Cash Prize
Is it legal to charge admittance to compete in a game of skill against other paying people. FOr example: If I were to hold a chess tournament and charge to compete. Could I then give away a cash prize to the winner of the tournament? Is this legal? Considered gambling? Thank you for your help.

Re: Cash Prize
Yes, yes, and no. A contest of skill isn't gambling.
