Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Class Canceliation
We are a teaching school we teach the TABC class. Very often
we go out to the clients' location to teach. We stipulate they must have 8 or more people for us to come out. Sometimes they have only 1 or 2 people show. We cancel if there are less that 8. Can we bill the client for our time and gas. Sometimes no one shows. We go out to clubs, bars and restaurants.
Thank you.

Re: Class Canceliation
You'd have no problem with collecting on no-shows if you have it written into your contract of engagement. Otherwise you're relying on a statement as to what may happen if an insufficient number of people show up, and that's tough to prove unless you tape every phone call that orders a class.
