Consulting Project - Breach of Contract

One of our clients (Large TX PC mfr) is trying to get out of a contract we have with them to perform consulting research, we have a signed contract. This contract represents almost half our revenues this year. What is our recourse to collect for the amount of damages for how it is screwing our existing payroll and vendor relationships. We may have to layoff now. We gave them cancellation options and they turned them down. We are ready to file a lawsuit. Any commencts

Re: Consulting Project - Breach of Contract

Doesn't the contract provide for how the parties can terminate the agreement? I would need to see the actual contract before being able to give a reasonable answer.

Re: Consulting Project - Breach of Contract

The contract should provide guidance on cancellation or termination of the contract. Additionally, the contract may provide guidance on whether any dispute would need to provide to arbitration rather than litigation. I would need to take a look at the contract to determine what remedies are available and how best to proceed with enforcing the agreement.
