Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
I was contracted in to dog sit for a lady in Bellaire TX to pet sit from 12/25-12/31. This was a big job and I would have preferred to keep this job, but she did not like what I had done. I did the job as she asked. I was at her home at discussed intervals, but did not leave a journal of the week, we were in constant communication during the week. my last visit to her home was at 2 pm. they arrived home at 5:30 and from what she text me was the puppy that was crated had urinated all over the carpet and his toys were stinky. I left a note of what happened during my last visit and was sorry that this happened. she kept texting me and i could not finish the first text I started. This lady is so frantic about her animals that I told her there would be no more communication and to keep her money. Then on Sunday I found out I was kicked out of care.com with no reason. This lady knows she owes the money and no one has control over what an animal does while not in their care. I sent a letter of demand for payment and an explanation of what happened and what I found out from care.com. I gave her 30 days to pay and told her if payment is not received I would file with Harris County small claims court. She can't make my decisions about my livelihood. I am the one that says stop not someone who intentionally hurts another.

As a Franchise Attorney I must ask - is there a question here? You can see whet happens in small claims court, but it seems you modified the contract by telling her to keep her money. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
