Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

contractual v.s. verbal agreement

As an owner of a company, one of my salespeople communicated invalid information to a customer. The salesperson quit 2 weeks later. The sale he made to the customer was about $15,000.00 below cost, am I obligated through the verbal (e-mail) agreement the two of them made? Even if there wasn't a written contract involved?

Re: contractual v.s. verbal agreement

If your employee was acting outside the scope of his authority, the contract should not be binding. In somecases however, if someone relies on the apparent authority of an agent, to his detriment, the principal (you), can be held liable. L. Maun 713.266.2560
