Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

correct legal form selection

I am wanting to begin a small business which would require the manufacturing of a product. I need to have a prototype made, but I must be certain that there will be confidentiality by the producer I choose. If I use your ''Employee Confidentiality Agreement'' can I modify it to allow use by an ''independent contractor''? I would only contract for a few products to be made in the beginning and they would not be by an employee. I don't think your ''Business Plan Confidentiality Agreement'' would be appropriate in this situation, but I would like your guidance. In summation, which form would be correct for my needs and can I alter the ''employee'' status to read ''independent contractor?''

Re: correct legal form selection

Any form put out in the public domain for use has an implied waiver of any copyright claim. Modify any form to suit your needs.

Since I don't know your needs, or what other protections you may have on your intellectual property, I certainly can't tell you which form is best for you to modify.

If your product is potentially valuable, hire a lawyer.
