Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
New Craft Business
I am starting a business that sells premade scrapbook pages and will custom make scrapbook albums. They would send me pictures and a concept, I will put them together in a scrapbook. I would like to know if there is something that I can do to protect myself from people not paying or wanting money back. I have a no refund policy and am asking for 1/2 down up front and 1/2 due before its mailed to them. Is there a form I can download or something that I can put on the website, a disclaimer, that would protect me?

Re: New Craft Business
Based on what you have written, it appears that you should form a legal entity under the laws of the State of Texas. Afterwards, you will want to create an operating agreement to further establish the legal entity. Then you should create a contractual agreement to further protect your rights and interests. You should really seek the assistance of a law firm in completing all of these events. If my law firm can assist you with these legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]) to arrange for an initial consultation.
