Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
I took my daughter to a dance studio and then decided not to return. We offered to pay for the month she attended but they have a 30 day drop policy which we never signed in agreement and was never asked to register at all. Somehow I was never even given an invoice for the cost of registration and I have not filled out a registration form which contains the 30 day drop policy information. Am I legally responsible to keep a contract they did not have me sign? I told the teacher we would not be back before the end of October but by the time the owner found out, we were into November and now my 30 days ends in December and I have to pay for December as well. I was also told a costume was ordered for December recital and I didn't pay for that or authorize an order. I don't mind paying for it. I just don't want to be forced to go there anymore. My daughter is 5 years old and they let her out into the parking lot alone and i could not find her. I was not late. I was there and didn't know she was released from another entrance. I didn't make a big fuss but everyone is still talking about that incident so I feel targeting for wanting to leave. I didn'tt even tell them why I wanted to leave but I guess they know why. Thanks so much for your help. This is really a great public service.

You should walk away from these people and never talk to them again. If they call you on the phone, tell them you prefer to communicate with them in writing only, and ask them to send you a letter. If they keep talking, hang up on them.
My guess is that they'll just forget the whole thing, and let it drop.
