Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
disability and return to work
I have been out of work on short term disability for the past few months. I have been released to return to work but my dr says that I can't go back to my old job. My employer is keeping me in the dark and has cut outside access to the hr website. What rights do I have, if any? Do I have any grounds for legal action?

Re: disability and return to work
You likely have little job protection. The plan was for ADA to protect jobs of handicapped persons, but it has been diluted to require a disabled person to perform their job with reasonable accommodation. It is not a reasonable accommodation to require the employer to make a job for you. Sorry. Good Luck.
