Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
An employee upon walking out of their job, took their personel file with them. They did not have permission to do so, and their boss was not on site at the time. Is it legal for them to do so? And what should be done to correct this issue if it is not?

Any attorney will say the personnel file belongs to the employer, not the employee. The employee may be liable for taking property that does not belong to them. There are a range of possible options - from a simple request to return to filing a police report - depending on the exact facts and circumstances. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
