Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Employment Agreement
My employer and I have a legal employment agreement signed by an attorney. If we're both in agreement do we have to have an attorney to sign a letter saying our contract is null and void?

Re: Employment Agreement
Howdy:
You and your boss are the parties to the original agreement, regardless of who signed it. If the parties agree to cancel the agreement, no other approval is required, unless the contract specifically states otherwise.
All you really need is a short paragraph that basically says we agree to cancel the contract. Put in the specifics of the contract, of course. Then each of you signs it. That way you have proof that there was agreement and that all responsibilities under the contract have been discharged.
Good luck.
