Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

Employment

In Texas, our employee drove our truck and earned pay. He was to be paid the following Friday. Before payday, he said he as put in jail for past warrants. No one notified us his status. He drove the truck to a known area of repute. After three days looking, I drove about 6 hours and found my truck.

He was warrned before about communications with us. He abandoned the truck and his job. We lost two days revenue the truck could make plus my cost of recovering the vehicle. The wages are about the amount of loss revenue and cost. I do not want to pay him. Can I hold his wages to offset the lost revenue and cost?
