Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
what can I do to enforce my rights?
I own 50% of a hairsalon that leases to independent contractors. Lease is paid once a week. My business partner has been collecting the lease & depositing the $ into the bank w/out letting me record & review what's paid. She refuses to let me see the lease even though I've made repeated requests. how can I enforce what I'm entitled to? We formed a LLC. My partner typed 3 different operating agreements all in her favor, I wouldn't sign. I wrote one that was fair to both of us , she wouldn't look @ it. Since there isn't a operating agreement, & she won't sell me her 1/2 & she won't buy me out @ my asking price - can I put my 1/2 up for public sell? We've been in business for 15 mos.The only $ I've earned is what I've made doing my clients. We have a 2 signiture business checking acct. The acct. has about $9000.00 in it. This money is half mine and I can't get to it. I feel that she thinks the money will all be hers, if she does buy me out. I have repeated requested that we dissolve the acct. split the $ and pay the bills out of our pockets. She acts very controlling & childish , she won't speak to me, she writes notesinstead. I refuse to write her back, When I talk to her she gets hostile. She says we're not partners. What can I do

Re: what can I do to enforce my rights?
You can file a petition for accounting. This would require some legal fees, but it might get her attention.
