Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
I engage a mediation service to help me with my house loan modification in June and paid 1/2 of retainier $1200, I have not heard back anything and no response or follow up from company. I requested a refund in Sept and I also received no response from the company. If they continue to be non responsive, what can I do to get back my money. The contract signed stated the retainer are refundable. I am in Texas and the mediation company is in California.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say about your only recourse is to sue them in small claims court, get a judgment and then collect on it. Check your contract to see if they are licensed or bonded with anyone and, if they are, file a claim there also. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
